Meal Planning Monday and a Whole Bunch of Thanks

So, I'm going to go ahead and give in to the Meal Planning Monday blog and publish this for the world.  I try to get my meals planned out in advance anyway because I'm an über dork planner, but this makes it official.  Here's the plan and agenda for this week:

Monday: Tater tot casserole
Tuesday: Turkey chili (looks like its going to be cold out there)
Wednesday: Crock pot salsa chicken and Spanish rice
Thursday: Grilled turkey sandwiches and salad
Friday: Pizza (this is a repeat for Friday's that you will probably see a lot)
Saturday: Last Iowa home game of the season.  Looking for a sitter so I can say I actually made it to a whole season for once. Tailgate fare it is. ;)
Sunday: Leftovers or something inspirational since I'll have some down time following family pictures that morning.

The other craze right now is doing the days of thanks until Thanksgiving.  I tend to do these in my head each night, but thought I might publish them along with the rest of the world right now.  Here's today's items I'm thankful for.

1.  My babies' smiles.  Brightens my day and makes me forget my troubles.  My kids (and husband) have the best cheesers I've ever seen.
2.  My supportive family.  When times are tough, we rally, and I've needed them more than ever lately.
3.  A good night's rest.  A night when one of the kids isn't up early or at some part of the night seems like it is a gift from the heavens.  Thanks for sleeping well last night little ones.
4.  An amazing job that I love to come to each and every day.  The staff, students, and community of Waukee are amazing, and I'm very happy to be a part of it.  Thanks also to my friend, Mindi, for opening my eyes to this opportunity.  I can't thank her enough.
5.  Awesome friends.  Although we don't get to hang out as much as we would like, when I do get to chat quick on text or Facebook, get a quick Skype or phone call in, it seems like time has not passed since we last met.  I am going to make an increased effort, no matter how tired my communication may be, to be in touch more.

Those are the deep ones rolling around in my head today.  As many of you know you get the serious, mush birthday cards from me only once in about 5 years.  If your birthday is in the next month or so, this might be your year.  I'm full of the mush these days.

Happy Monday to you all!

M
