A Trip Home

As you can tell, I'm just catching up on blogging today.  It has been an interesting couple weeks as I've posted before, and finding the creativity in my sleep-deprived brain to type up a blog post has been an effort.  Last week, my Aunt Debbie passed away after a long battle with cancer.  Although emotionally it was pretty rough to go through, it did give the family a chance to get together.  I am regretting not doing something like that last summer when Aunt Debbie could have been a part of it as well.  She was an amazing lady.  I heard great things about her from lots of people last week.  One of which was, "She was the nicest person I've ever met in my whole life.", and they weren't stretching the truth one bit.

So out of sadness came a fun weekend (I mean week, but it felt like the weekend).  We got to see our cousins and their new babies, and relatives and friends we had not seen in years.  We re-told lots of stories and hugged and cried and smiled.

It was the first time all of Dad's grandkids were in one spot.  When I say "one spot", it was a huge effort to get them all in one place for these pictures.  Whew!
