DJ has become an eater. The kid will eat anything. He's had guacamole, cheese, pork tenderloin, pizza, ravioli, steak, mashed potatoes, corn, oranges, apples with the peel and more just in the last week. He has 5 teeth right now, but he manages to get just about anything down. He's still not crawling but doing his scooter routine. He wants to stand all the time with the help of others, so it will only be a matter of time before he is walking. Hard to believe he will be 1 in less than a month.

Marley is the best big sister ever. She loves "DJ brother" and her family hugs. It is her nightly routine to "talk" before bed. She is a spelling maniac right now and can spell not only her name, but likes to spell the names of those in her class. By the way, she loves to be line leader at school. Somehow Mommy is always snack helper at home. Preschool is really agreeing with her. She loves her friends and her teacher, Miss Bonnie. She has also started her extracurricular track practice with Adam, but she likes to practice in a pretty dress and shoes.

Another first this week for me. After 15 years of making payments, my Bachelor's, Master's, teaching certificate, and myriad of other classes are finally paid off. The student loan was worth every penny, but very happy that is in the past.
On another front, I've some how caught the running bug and am training using the Couch to 5k app. I'm in week 4 of training and starting to feel the pain a bit. My race is in Waukee on May 5.
This week I also had my first trip to the Capital for STEM Day. I attended on behalf of the Hyperstream Club I advise at Waukee along with a few students. We got to talk with legislators about the benefits of the program and look around at all the other fun things going on with science, technology, engineering, and mathematics across the state. Oh, and we met the Governor and Lt. Governor.

Adam is working away as always. His goal for the year is completed typically in the first half of the year, so he is a busy guy. We are looking forward to spending a little down time with friends over the upcoming spring break and patiently waiting until the summer travel season.
That's all for now. Hope you all are enjoying this fantastic weather.
